I really could eat one every day. EVERY day I say. I am still living under the illusion that it's healthy for me... Don't burst my bubble.

#5: Big Week at Work: Chuck's been at his job for over a year now! Review time! My husband is ridiculously talented and GREAT at what he does. This week will confirm that fact to him, I am sure. It's nice to have such a fantastically talented and hard working boy.

#6: Sunday Dinners with the Robinsons: I have great in-laws. Every other Sunday Chuck's entire maternal side gathers at his grandparent's house for dinner. Food is great, the people are awesome, we play fun games and just hang out. It's FUN. Fun fun fun.

#7: Massage Day: Yippee. Teach a kid voice, get free massages. I again, profess the amazing-ness of this business deal.

Twilight series: DONE.

Read it. Squirmed a few billion times. Memorized the phrase, "smiled his/her ___ smile...", rolled my eyes- a lot, but yeah- I enjoyed it. And it was all worth reading.

I celebrated my accomplishment by spending a good half-hour playing vampire for my husband. He officially thinks I am crazy.

At least I am fun.

To Be "Really Good"

Lately, as I have learned what life is without rehearsals and scripts, false eyelashes and glue, and without an audible applause, I have found myself pondering the concept of BEING GOOD at something. I should, rather, say being REALLY good at something. I crave that. Though this post may seem absurd to some of you, it's something that is very real and tangible to me.

I don't feel that I'm REALLY GOOD at anything right now.

(Quick disclaimer: I am happy. My life is great- I don't post this to express problems or depressions or blah blah... I'm simply just writing my honest-to-gosh human emotions of the day.)

I've been stripped down to just me. For the past year there's been no "princess," no "Millie," no "insert-name-of-whatever-musical-character-here." I'm just Amy. And sometimes, being just Amy makes me feel a bit lost. OK. A LOT lost.

For the first time in my adult life, I am trying to figure out who and what I am without being a serious musical theatre diva chick. And honestly, I'm not very good at figuring that out.

I want to be good at something. REALLY good at something.The further away I get from my life as a performer, I feel that the one thing that I AM really good at is drifting out of my grasp. I haven't auditioned now in a few YEARS. I hardly ever get myself up on a stage anymore. (This is a self-inflicted curse because I can't part with my beloved Equity card...) I don't really DO what I am best at much anymore.

So the challenge? Become really good at something else. I wish it was the piano. I wish it was cooking. I wish it was decorating. I wish it was SOMETHING. But I don't even know where to start.

Work.

Yeah. But sometimes all the work+wishing in the world still doesn't make you good at something... I guess that's what I am afraid of. I come from the world of, "You either got it, or you ain't..." (Thank you, Mama Rose). Sometimes I think I "ain't got it" in any other aspects of life.

I don't like being mediocre. It bugs me.

Its never been enough for me.

The Always-Posted-on- Monday SUNDAY Sunshine

Long week. I have lots of time and no time all at the same time. Perhaps this will be the story of my 2010. Or my life.

Things that made me happy this week:

1. Remember my post about Uncle Sam? Well, Mr. Adam, our tax friend, and I have been finding things that will lighten our Uncle Sam obligations a bit. (I found that a 1098 Mortgage interest form had been missing!) This makes me happy. Very happy. No word on the final damages yet, but it will surely not be as painful as previously thought. I'd still rather get a REFUND- we could buy the furniture below a lot sooner in said case, but whatever. I''ll take what I can get right now.

2. Vacation plans are up our sleeves again. I love vacays. Probably won't happen till November, but I have something to look forward to.

3. One month till ONE YEAR! Happy almost anniversary to us!

4. Special K Fruit and Yogurt Cereal: Loved this stuff in Orlando and revisited it this week. Yum.

5. My house will be clean today!

6. The new job: I'm working the desk at this cute little preschool/performing arts academy a couple nights a week. I'm still learning and everything, but so far it's been fun. I'm glad to have something to keep me busy a few times a week.

7. Getting through Twilight: I'm close to finishing the series. I'll admit, pregnant chicks drinking human blood ain't quite up my alley. But it's entertaining and I'll finish. Then I can officially stop getting looks of disgust when I chat with the ladies about having not read the series. I'll no longer be an outsider. Lucky me.

8. Some of my favorite people are having a baby. It's been a long haul for them and I am GIDDY with excitement for them!

9. Last week for FHE Chuck and I talked about this little clip from KSL's Studio 5. All week we've been doing a "T chart." It's on our bathroom mirror and it's been a great and fun thing for us. Love makes me happy.

10. I am bound and determined to make myself into a journal writer again. I was once so diligent and good about it, but since I came home from Hong Kong in 2007 I just kind of stopped. This is the week to get back into it!

"Such an Amazing Journey... It's Been Such a Blast"

Yeah. I started this draft last week and never posted. But since tonight is the WOMEN TELL ALL episode, I thought I'd get this humdinger on the bloggy.


Jake-

HAS it been amazing? Have you made a lot of money keeping Vienna around so that ABC's show ratings stay high?!?! Hmph.

Gia + Jake = AWKWARD. At least you think she's pretty, right Jake? That's about the only compliment you can come up with for her. Oh yeah, and "she's so deep." All we've seen of that depth is the $700 shoes you keep referring to.

Tenley + Jake = SAPPY. Were you really a sucker for her dance at her hometown studio, Jake? Cuz the rest of us just thought it was weird. I still want Tenley to be the one for you. I LIKE her. Winner question of the evening (Totally being serious here too): "How will you pursue me out in 'the real world?' " Thanks, Tenley, for having somewhat of a head on your shoulders. You're sappy and have RS voice, but I still like you best.

Jake: The beach scenes of Gia and Tenley were awfully similar... there hasn't been much hot tub action this season- maybe you should have taken one of them to the hot tub. OH WAIT! You had a bath with Gia. Nevermind.

Vienna + Jake = BLAH. "Hi Sweetheart!" Thanks, Vienna, for making me throw up in my mouth a little bit. I still don't like her, Jake. She is young and giddy and caught up in the fantasy world of all this Bachelor junk. Sigh.

Favorite Jake quote of the evening: "Ali, you drove away with a part of my heart." Really Jake? Was that on your motorcycle??

Nice, creative editing, Bachelor editing team. We all totally fell for your, "Get on a plane RIGHT NOW," edit for Ali. But those of us who read the spoilers were totally on to your mind games.

Ali: If you went home, WHY were you living in a hotel, wearing their bathrobe, and drooling over the photos of Jake on the nightstand next to your Marriott telephone? The staging of this show kills me sometimes! :-)

PS: How many of these woman do you ACTUALLY sleep with, Mr. J? We know that ABC wants us to think that you sleep with them all, but really? Am I just a naive little Mormon girl that thinks you couldn't possibly be ok doing that?? Probably.

I'm Dreaming of a White...

So now that my sister's borrowed furniture has been sold, I am dreaming of the day that I can decorate my house. Yes, all friends with children, I know that you laugh inside as I drool over these white living room pieces, but I want them. So I'll put up a baby gate someday to avoid all things sticky, slimy, poopy, and grimy.

I am an optimist.

Did a little gig with a photographer from Tooele this week. I got to throw on my wedding dress and play bride again. It rained so my hair wilted, but whatever. Anyway- my pay is new headshots. Fun.

Sunday Sunshine for Valentines Day

Twas a pretty happy week. This is why:

#1: Valentines Day Weekend: My husband is cute. Saturday morning I woke up to lots of chocolate, roses, and two new purses! (And a few other things- involving kitties- that made me laugh). Love him. He makes me feel special and treats me like a princess even when I don't act like one. :-) We went to the YA show on BYU campus, and then drove to, of all places, Ephraim, to eat at a hole-in-the-wall pizza joint called Roy's. I've loved it ever since my sister went to school at Snow College in 2003, so we finally made the jaunt over there so Chuck could try it out. YUMMY. Cinnamon bread sticks. Heaven.





We also took a quick nighttime gander at the Manti Temple. Gorgeous. Happiness.

#2: Young Ambassadors 40th Reunion: Though I didn't PARTICIPATE in this weekend's festivities, I was filled with sentiment and memories of my time with the BYU Young Ambassadors. It's been five years now since my time with that group, but I still keep in touch with many of my dear friends from that time. Like I mentioned, Chuck and I attended the "YA Show" on Saturday afternoon, and then tonight we went to a fireside at the Conference Center that was recorded for future broadcast.

"I Have Seen Him"- the song in the video below- was my favorite song from the YA fireside of 2004-05. Thanks, Dallyn Bayles for being such a rock star (The good Mormon boy kind, of course!)

#3: The Feeling of Spring: Today I sneezed. I think it's coming. That makes me happy.

#4: A New Job: I got a new job this week. Nothing that will be a gigantic time commitment, it's only six hours a week, but it'll be fun. Details to come.

#5: A Special Project: For the last two weeks I have been doing something special for my cute sister. Here're highlights of the end result:

#6: A Cute Dress: Wore my new Shabby Apple dress today. Love it.

#7: Twilight #4: Got it from my mom tonight. Guess I know what I'll be doing all week.

#8: Survivor: Yay for Thursday night in front of the TV with friends.

#9: Renewed Dedication: The last month has been rough. I've been making myself feel better with whatever food I want. Results: No money and weight gain. Ahhhhh love it. Anyway, the skies are blue, I'm a mile away from an outdoor track, and my iPod Shuffle is ready to go with some geeky Glee tunes.

#10: Cuddling: I am a cuddle addict. My husband puts up with it. Thanks, Charles.

#11: Elmers Glue: It smells like elementary school. I used it a lot this week.

#12: Dasani Water: Yum.

#13: Benihana: Oh yeah- did I mention that we also went to Benihana with friends for Valentines Day? We did. My husband is cool. Thanks to Adam and Katie too for a fun night!


#14: Chuck likes it when I dance for him. Just like Tenley dances for Jake. Tonight's impromptu dance was a selection from the animated film, "Anastasia." Thanks Donna Lewis and Richard Marx.

#15: My V-Day present for Chuckie was pretty lame, but he seemed to like it. He took lots of pictures.

I love this boy.

Dear Jake,

Haven't you ALREADY appeared on the Jillian/Ed season of The Bachelorette? WHY then, are we having a repeat of last season's fabricated-to-add-drama event of someone leaving the show because if they don't, they'll be fired?? Dang it Ali. And I was really liking you again last night. (Truth be told that I knew all along this would happen... I'm a spoiler freak, BUT it still bugs me.) Now the only even remotely possible choice is Tenley. (Though, again, I know the end- but I will keep my mouth shut.)

Jacob, tell Gia to STOP putting her hands in her mouth CONSTANTLY and standing cross-legged at the Rose Ceremonies. NEITHER make her look sexy. Her insecurity thing is getting uber annoying. We know you want to be "different" from the other girls, Gia. You are.

I was so sure that Vienna was a spoiled little "Isleworth" (for you Floridians) -type of girl. But ha! Nope! She comes from a little house in Sanford. Who woulda thunk? I half expected her family to have a skinned alligator ready to eat on the dinner table. Hmmm.

Tenley: DO NOT DANCE ON NATIONAL TV. Just don't, OK? I had hoped that the bit on the beach the first episode was a fluke because you were on the sand... or something. But really, honey, you shouldn't be making a fool of yourself like that. It's painful for us all.

And thank you, Tenley's family, for the Joshua 24:15 throw blanket sprawled across the interview chair. Now we know you're religious. Practically Mormon. That's nice.

Whhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhy, Jake, do you focus so much on Tenley's divorce, but practically ignore the fact that your little Vienna was once married as well? Bah. I know you like her. But whhhhhhhhhhhhhyyyyyyy?

And Jake, how much are the producers paying you to keep her around??? It makes for great TV.

Almost Springtime ... Sunday Sunshine!

So Spring... it feels like it's coming. That makes me happy, BUT honestly, I'd still enjoy a bit more snow. There hasn't been enough for my first year back in Utah. I'm envious of the East coast right now. So that's how I feel about snow. Yep.

Happies of the week:

1. Most of the week was spent in bed trying to get rid of the stupid cold that has plagued my life for the past almost two weeks. And don't worry- I'm STILL posting from my bed where I'll most likely remain for the rest of the day. Days in bed are nice sometimes. They're good for refocusing, reading, lots of sleeping, blogging, etc. etc. etc. I'll admit that, besides the fact that my nose was, and still is, either plugged or running like a faucet, the week in bed was quite enjoyable.

2. Syd's scholarship concert: Good, GOOD times. Awesome people that I was SO happy to see and perform with. I didn't take any pictures, which is fairly unlike me. BUT I think the fact that I was sicky sick sick deterred me from wanting to document the event. And I had a zit on my chin. Ha.

I love performing with talented people. I love getting goosebumps when I hear my friends sing "In Lily's Eyes" or "Back to Before." It makes my heart giddily happy. I love being a part of that. Unfortunately, the grimace I wore on my face the entire rehearsal and show process didn't display that giddiness very well, but know, friends, that I loved it. It's just not AS much fun when you feel like you've been hit by a truck.

3. I've had a FANTASTIC project going on all week and I am excited to finish it up. :-) I love secrets.

4. I get my car back this week!!! Sophie will be good as new.

5. Free massages are still pretty much my favorite thing in the world. Thanks, neighbor, for the amazing hookup. Sigh.

6. It's Valentines Day week!!! It's great to know I'll have a date!!!

7. I grocery shopped like a mad woman on Friday. It was delightful. I REALLY enjoy grocery stores.

8. It's Bachelor night. AND Survivor starts again on Thursday.

9. OFFICE NIGHT: Thursday nights are happy here at our house. We have friends over, we play games, we talk, and once in awhile we actually watch THE OFFICE. I am so grateful for fun friends and the good times we have on Thursdays.

10. Clean towels. Ahhhh divinity.

11. Lazy Sunday nights: Last night I laughed harder than I have in months. Chuck and my mom were on one as we played a game of Settlers. I love funny people.

Seriously? This is getting pathetic. Sigh.

And yet I still watch. And I still love every second. Perhaps it is I who is pathetic.

Well, as of tonight you're down to four. I'm not surprised at the four who are still there, I mean REALLY, did you THINK that we, your audience, would actually believe that you'd even think twice about sending Corrie home after that awkward as all get out date you had with her on this episode? I was cringing the whole time. And I liked Corrie. Too darn bad. (And PS: The clips at the end of the episode showed the Corrie that Jake needed to see... where was that chick when she was out with him!?!?)

Continuing on:

Do you like girls who chew on their nails while you have intimate talks? Ikk. Maybe that's why Gia always has a band-aid on her finger. Those hangnails have got to hurt!

You really thought Vienna looked sexy that night she came into your bed? Bleh. She is yucky. Have I mentioned that before? And that rose ceremony look was... uh... I have no words.

Ali is cute. I sure wish that she wouldn't have gone crazy half way through the season.

And Tenley. Tenley Tenley. I still like you the best. You're genuine, vulnerable, and sticky sweet. And sometimes you drink Coke while the other girls alcohol their way into oblivion...

Sometimes I wish I didn't know how the season ended... but I just can't help myself. I'm a "read the end of the book first" kind of girl.
