Sunny Day

1. We're down to less than five weeks now, folks. Hip-hip HOORAY! In two weeks I am considered "full term," and do you know what that means? Momma here sends out an eviction notice and begins taking measures to get the little guy OUT. (Because of this attitude I am sure to be doomed to deliver a week or more late . . . but hey- one can dream, right? Breathing is hard, sleeping is practically impossible, and I love that bathroom breaks consist of a good majority of my day. On the flip side - I have THOROUGHLY enjoyed my evenings which now faithfully consist of a bubble bath. For Valentine's Day Chuck got me a bunch of fantastic "sleep" aromatherapy products from Bath and Body Works, and lo and behold, they do wonders! THIS is my favorite:

I highly recommend this little jar of happiness.

2. Domestication: Last week I finished this beauty:

And THIS week I will finish a little tie quilt and pillows to match. (Pillows from IKEA - covers made with the help of this site) Our baby will soon have a complete room - we just need to stock it up with products and we'll be set! (Thank heaven for baby showers . . . getting ready for baby is not so cheap - well, at least the way we're doing it.  ;-) )  Remember how we used to go on like five vacays a year? Yeah- now you know where THAT money is going! (OK- let's be honest - Chuck and I have found GREAT deals on KSL and at other stores with the things we've been doing - TECHNICALLY we've done this pretty inexpensively considering it all...)

3. Heart: I love me some Valentine's Day. I made Chuck breakfast (pink heart shaped pancakes, eggs, fruit), he gave me aforementioned body products and candy, and we had dinner at Carrabbas - it was the best night out we'd had in awhile. No distractions (PHONES, COMPUTERS, ETC. - UGH), just time with my favorite person, great food, and even dessert at Menchies at the end of the night. Perfection.

4. Meowsies:

I just love my cat. He is a mean kitty - but I still love him. (And doesn't he look just fetching in this lovely pink bow? Ha!)

5. Bosom Buddies: I had a great weekend with friends. Friday night was spent in Farmington with girls I've know for mostly far beyond half of my life, and Saturday I was able to see and be spoiled by many other friends who are near and dear to me. I am grateful for all of these ladies in my life. I have a tender spot in my heart for every single one of them. Happy, happy memories with all of them. I am blessed.

6. "Girl Trust Your Feelings..." : This week's obsession was with Whitney Houston. In the same manner as after Michael Jackson died, I found myself searching YouTube for the brilliance.

Ahhhhh, memories of sixth grade come flooding back to me... She was the one popstar I knew existed. (This girl was raised on Broadway musicals, Barry Manilow, and Neil Diamond, thank you very much!)

And yes, this song came out in 1991, but I didn't discover true love for it till 1998 - my senior year - So, in typical Amy fashion, I was a few years late. :-)  Thank you, Lace and Mr. Everton . . .  I particularly enjoy that the "choir" in this video is cuddling in one gigantic Snuggie.

7. Pearly Whites: I had a nightmare last night about one of my teeth busting and being a bloody mess. Waking up to my non-damaged teeth made me happy on this early Sunday morning.

And that concludes this week's happies.

Sunshine

1. One Step at a Time: Each Saturday we work a bit more on the nursery. While I was at Kaitlyn's shower on Saturday, Chuck created these for the wall above the crib. The artwork was taken from a children's book that we found in the basement, and Chuck had the mattes cut and then framed it all himself. The room is tarting together... this week the goal is to get the crib skirt made...

Easy. That's what I need!

2. ONE WEEK! I have gone an entire week without a nosebleed. THAT- considering my record of having at least four per day for about two months - is a miracle. Oh, how grateful I am.

3. No Control: I need sweets. I love them. Control is not something I have right now. I wonder, had I HAD control and been good and eaten veggies and nuts and stuff, if I'd be on the LOWER end of "average weight gain" for pregnancy than on the HIGHER end. Meh. Remember how I'm running a half marathon next January? Yeah . . . I'll have control AND work out . . . later. (Am I going to be shooting myself over this attitude in twelve weeks?????)

POINT IS THAT I FOUND THIS:

Yum.

4. Less: Less work.  Less mileage on my car. Fewer fill-ups for Sophie (and fewer dollars coming out of my checking account!) Less stress.

In my case right now, LESS IS MORE. And I love it.

5. Job: Chuck's job is great. I am grateful for it. We got a fantastic bonus this week and it feels WONDERFUL to have a little nest egg waiting for us in case we need more than what we have already saved up for baby's medical expenses. :-)

And if we don't? We will finally get furniture for our TV room. When we have people over they may actually have somewhere to sit!

6. Taxes: Next year we can claim a kid. THAT will be - really great.

7. Pedi: Had a pedi and afternoon out with Hilly a couple weeks ago. I always tell Chuck that if we ever have an obnoxious amount of money someday, the first thing I will spend it on is spa treatments two to three times per week. Pedis, massages, manis . . . And I will have a personal trainer. And a nutritionist. And a cook. And probably someone to do our laundry.

Yep.

Still Counting Down...

Somehow I missed last week's #8.

Ah well... 7 weeks till baby is due!

We need to get that nursery done...

I've spent the last few days reading this:

Thanks, Andrea, for the recommendation. More thoughts to come.
