A Reminder...

WARNING: This is a candid post that my mother will not like.

Yeah- so everyone has been posting this lately, but it's a reminder I, and lots of other people need. I used to be VERY passionate about this subject- texting while driving was NOT an option, but I will be the first to admit that lately I have slipped up. No text message is worth this kind of consequence.

I always feel a sense of "it couldn't happen to me" when I text and drive. All those feelings of teen aged invincibility- that I never really had AS a teen- seem to hit me when I get a text while I drive. STUPID. And on occasion, I find myself slamming on the breaks or swerving back into my lane... STUPID.

I often feel as if texting is ruining our lives anyway- maybe I should just completely get rid of it... I WOULD if I didn't feel as if my connection to the world would be cut off. What ever happened to a good old face-to-face visit? Sigh.

Too Cute to Miss...

Hope she doesn't mind, but this story was posted by my friend Dave's wife, Mindy, the other day. I REALLY had to copy it to my blog because it was so hilarious.

Not Until You're 23

This is how my conversation with Lincoln went this morning:

Linc: "Mom, where are we going?"
Me: "You're going to the temple with your primary."
Linc: "I DON'T WANT TO GO TO THE TEMPLE!"

Then 5 or so minutes of arguing over the fact that he is, indeed, going to the temple.
Finally out of sheer frustration that I wasn't getting it, he tells me what's really bothering him.

Linc: "But Mom, I don't want to get married today!"
Me (trying really hard not to laugh out loud): "Honey you don't have to get married today."
Linc: "But you said I'm going to the temple."
Me: "You are going to the temple. But Buddy, there are other reasons you go to the temple besides getting married."
Linc: "I don't want to get married today."
Me: "I PROMISE you won't get married today...but you do have to go to the temple with your class...and be nice to your teachers."

Heaven help us.

Kind of Obsessed...

I LOVE Rachel McAdams. I just DO. She's GORGEOUS and a brilliant actress. She is my woman crush. I asked Chuck if he had a man crush and he said he doesn't. I want him to have a man crush to validate my woman crush. But he doesn't.

That's all.

Go there. He's brilliant.

Babies Babies...

Hi world. I'm pregnant. Like everyone else.

Nope. Again, that is a lie. I do that too often on this blog...

Last night I threw a baby shower for Hilly and her little baby, Gretel- who is due September 21.

And congrats to Laurel- who was supposed to help HOST the shower- but decided to have her baby-boy-who-is-currently-nameless instead. Happy.

We had a fantastic turnout and Gretel is hooked up with tons of loot. Yay babies.

Also- credit must be given to my fantastic husband who designed the invite. Cute boy. I'll keep him.

Coming...

Yep- haven't blogged lately cuz, like the post below states, a vacation of happiness was taken last week! Biff, Brett, Kensie, Chuck, and I went to San Francisco to visit my aunt and uncle- Jodi and Jeff. We couldn't have asked for better hosts or a better trip. Pictures coming soon. For some reason my computer isn't reading the camera card tonight. LAME.

Dear World...

I am currently trying to lose the five pounds I gained while on vacation last week. Ya do all that work for weeks/months, and seven lousy days can blow it. Bah. Good thing the trip itself ROCKED. :-)

Friday.

Minus the Bud Light (or replace it with carrots and almonds...), this is how I feel today. Stick blogs and Facebook in the mix and yep, that's me.

Friday.

Friday is a day that doesn't mean much to me these days. Ya know- without a JOB Friday is just another day to get things done around the house, prepare for the weekend- which never really consists of much- and um... yep. I guess I look forward to Friday because it means I have two days of not working out ahead of me. :-) Ha. I used to live for Fridays.

Friday. Weird word.

Vacay.

On another note: Last night my beautiful tomato plants were blown to bits by crazy winds. Smoke and dust has ruined their little leaves, and I am bummed. They're hearty, but what can I do to help the poor guys?

Settlers. Fun game. Thanks to Kristy and Travis I am now dreaming about settlements and sheep and stuff. I've needed to learn how to play since the Playmill 2003 cast obsession with it. What? I'm only six years late.

Could I be more random?
