The Unknown Realm of Amy Crankiness

I am rarely cranky. I hardly ever get stressed. I am just a happy person who's nearly always content with what goes on her in life. However, today I was cranky and short and mean with people. Well, my family particularly- but SERIOUSLY- this "one week's notice to move to Florida" has stressed me out! It's exciting and I feel blessed to have gotten this job... but wow- I just started to re-establish my life here in Utah and "Hello- move to Florida, Amy." I KNOW that Florida is where I NEED to be right now. I am constantly praying that Heavenly Father will help lead me to where I need to be. (Or at least in the general direction... ha) Anyway, the timing of this job is uncanny, it's just really a GOOD time for me to go... but ya know, moving to the other side of the country without knowing where you're gonna live or anything is stressful. It just is. And Amy- one of the happiest of people, has been chewed up by the stress bug and it makes her CRANKY. (Why I am referring to myself in 3rd person now???)

Here's to throwing some clothes, shoes, and scrapbook supplies in the car and moving to Florida.

Amy's Adventures with Shamu... and Other Stuffs

So I spent the weekend in Florida. I LOVE FLORIDA. I love Shamu and Sea World, I love the ENTIRE Disneyworld EVERYTHING, I love the trees and yeah... OK.. .anyway... so I went out to audition for Disney's MGM Studios Beauty and the Beast show and got called back. Only thing is that now I have to fly BACK here in a week and a half FOR that callback. Wow. The things I do.

I've been waiting my WHOLE LIFE for Sea World.
Many of you may know this story- but when I was in the sixth grade I was OBSESSED with marine mammals. I learned all I could about whales, dolphins, manatees, etc, and even ended up making a chalked diagram on the sidewalk in front of our house with the lengths of every kind of whale imaginable. I wanted to be a marine biologist. I am an actress. Ha.

After "Journey to Atlantis". I have never been so soaked after a ride! SO MUCH FUN!

Mommy's reaction to her first "Senior Discount." HA!

This guy was cool.

SHAMU!!!

I have never cared for Denny's. But I tell ya, THIS Denny's...on 192 in Kissimmee- was AMAZING. Best french toast I have had in MY LIFE. We went there two mornings in a row we loved it so much. I LOVE FRENCH TOAST

Yeah- so NOW I understand why they said the castle in Hong Kong was so small...

At MGM Studios

This just made me laugh and think of my theatre friends.

A San Francisco back drop... cool!

EPCOT!

And last- I bought my unborn niece her first two pairs of shoes. She isn't even here till November... I am in trouble. :-) Hee!

Closing Weekend

Well, this weekend finishes off the "project" I've been working on since I got home from Hong Kong almost 11 weeks ago. (Right now everything is still related to "when I got home"... I think that will wear off sometime soon. Ha ha.) ANYWAY- so here're some more pics to memorialize my last weekend as "Thoroughly Modern Millie."

Ha ha. Yeeeeah, well... there was this neck massager thing...

Doot doo doo... Life.

Well, this weekend I have been home for TEN, yes, TEN weeks. Uh, CRAZY. Things have just been so GO GO GO since I got home that I really haven't had a lot of time to process it all. For the first few weeks I was COMPLETELY immersed in learning Millie and getting it going... but once the show opened I had more time to think... and get SAD about leaving life in Hong Kong. I LOVE being home, but every time I get an email from those people I love in Hong Kong, my heart hurts a little... sometimes a lot. For a period of about three weeks there I would cry almost every night on my drive home from the theatre.

I miss teasing Alex, the hunchback. I miss talks with Ralion and Noel. I miss coming up with " today's highlights" with Andy. I miss Fiona- her friendship and her spirituality. I miss Alisia being the sweetest thing ever to me. I miss saying "Hi Amy," to Amy Cho. I miss watching and hearing the vocalists freak out when Russ, Ronnie, and Jen come to the show- not the FAB FIVE!!!! I miss Matt complaining. I miss not having a CLUE what Simon just said to me. I miss having Candy, “my twin” close by. I miss hearing Harry say, "Amy, you'll so hawt!" I miss Sam. I miss Kimbe. I miss Jinky being loud with me. I miss saying "josun" when I get to work in the morning. I miss being called "Bad Belle." I miss Donald chasing me after the finale. I miss mic checks. I miss blocking Ralion as he tried to get on stage for the finale. I miss The Donny Osmond shirt on my costume rack. I miss Kenny. (Do I miss Kenny?) I miss crazy Michelle. I miss Julie Wednesdays. I miss Anthony shunning me before the finale. I miss Mason looking at me like I am insane. I miss playing on the balcony before my scene with Jen and Lilu. I miss telling Lilu that he has a crush on me. I miss Tetchie yelling “Belle!” “Belle!” I miss making Kelvin laugh. I miss Gillian, Helen, and Justine asking me why I am so happy. I miss being called "The Happy Guhl." I miss Jade's bodily function noises in the dressing room. I miss Sunshine's dancing. I miss Roy calling me gorgeous. I miss saluting, along with Andy, to Steve and Simon as they swooped on stage as Tarzan. I miss trying to repeat the Cantonese dialogue of the show right after the opener. I miss Raymond telling me about his baby and constantly singing anything and everything. I miss dragging myself to morning meeting on a standby day. I miss Franz passing gas in his Beast costume. I miss watching everyone sleep in the green room. I miss ballet warm-ups... not I don't... I miss counting down days with Elisha. I miss my Belle costume. I miss sleeping with the blue couch cushions on my head. I miss hanging out in my "corner." I miss squatting with Alice. I miss Ballerina Donald (Gloriza). I miss making faces and doing dumb things to the folks across the way before going on for the finale. I miss dressing up like a Chinese man with a stick- "HOW MANY HUNS ARE YOU GOING TO KILL?!?!?" I miss throwing Anthony's Mulan costume around in the back hallway. I miss wearing just my bloomers and a t-shirt between shows. I DON'T miss the yellow usher pants.

I miss my apartment. I miss Keilyn, Isabelle, Madelyn, Whitman, and Christian. I miss Gayle, Lydia, and Addy- who calls me "Maimie."

... This post is a work in progress. I am tired and need to sleep. More to come.

Well, I bought my car. Her name is Sophie and I love her. 2006 Mazda 6 with only 5,000 miles on her. So much fun. Happy dance.

They put up the Millie posters in front of the theatre. I call this picture

Home! The Madness of it All...

Well, time is short, but I thought I'd post a tiny little update so y'all know I am still alive. :-) I have been home in Utah for a week now. I LOVE IT HERE. I love Salt Lake City- I love the big, open, blue skies and I LOVE being around food that I LOVE again. But wow- I have been SWAMPED. In one week I have learned Thoroughly Modern Millie, trained for a new job in the box office at the Hale, and yeah... that's about it. I have had no time to unpack or see friends or anything. Even with all this- I am happy and LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL! I am SO excited to get this show and this job up and going so I can actually have a LIFE. I am excited to get back into the swing of everything and to PLAY like crazy and enjoy life as a college grad! YAY! Loves.

The Beast's Nose is Red...

Before the "Beauty and the Beast" scene starts in every show- I give a certain Beast a big fat red-lipstick kiss on the nose. His nose is forever red because of "Amy S." I LIKE IT THAT WAY!

Reverance apparently wasn't learned in the lesson on Sunday I love these kids. Sniffle.

With the Robison's in Tarzan's Treehouse

The HOTTEST costume EVER!

Be a MAN! (I'm TRYING, I'm TRYING!)

My hunchback Alex. He's also a crazy killer of HUNS.

Me and Alice..

Me and Jinky... the girls who keep the dressing room loud. :-)

Me and Song get KISSY.

Ready for my last show...

Some members of the branch came in to see my last show.

I heart Stitch!

I also heart all these people!

Today my aunts Jodi and Becky and I went to the 10,000 Buddhas Monastery.

Gee- this sure would be an awkward birth defect...
ANYWAY:
I have less than 48 hours left here in Hong Kong. I honestly CAN NOT wrap my finger around the idea that I have been here for seven and a half months. This week has been an emotional roller coaster. OF COURSE I am excited to come home, but leaving my life here is REALLY hard. I am TERRIBLE at goodbyes... and would rather quietly slip away than say ACTUAL goodbyes cuz I can't handle them. Anyway, my life is incredible. I just spent 7+ months living in HONG KONG- learning about myself and other people, and having the experience of a LIFETIME. MY life is OVERFLOWING with blessings from my Heavenly Father- sometimes it really seems unbelievable. I'll trust in Him to send me another equally as exciting adventure as I head back to my home this weekend. LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL!
